Assistant Director of Human Resources

 

Job Description

The Assistant Human Resources Director assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. The Assistant HR Director carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: departmental development, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organization development, executive administration, and employment.

 

Reports To: Director of Human Resources

 

Primary Responsibilities

The HR assistant has partial responsibilities for these areas:

  • Recruiting and staffing logistics
  • Performance management and improvement tracking systems
  • Employee orientation, development and training logistics and recordkeeping
  • Assisting with employee relations
  • Company-wide committee facilitation and participation
  • Company employee communications
  • Compensation and benefits administration and recordkeeping
  • Employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting, and employee services
  • Maintaining employee files and the HR filing system
  • Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operations of the HR office
  • Helps with the implementation of services, policies, and programs through HR staff, and assists company managers with HR issues
  • Processing weekly payroll
  • Completes other duties as requested

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years in professional experience in human resources
  • Strong effective communicator in writing, business presentations and in interpersonal communication
  • Highly developed, demonstrated teamwork sills
  • Demonstrates a high degree of confidentiality and common sense
  • Detail oriented
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
