New England-based agri-business seeks a Credit Manager who will work with customers and prospects to manage risk for the business. This role includes credit and collection activities; the supervision of investigations of credit risks involving customers and suppliers; and the collection of amounts due to the company for goods sold. This role is also responsible for administering and enforcing corporate credit & collections policies and procedures.

You will spend 75% of your time in the office and up to 25% visiting local customers/prospects.

Job reports directly to ownership.
Evaluate credit risk for current and prospective customers.
Collect on $10-15M in A/R, with a significant portion aged out for a $50M+ business.
Develop strategies and goals to reduce exposure to write-offs.
Interface with multiple departments, including sales staff & management.
Review, prepare and analyze accounts receivable aging reports.
Prepare period reports, including credit hold, bad debt, new credit application, etc.
To be considered for this opportunity you must have 3 years of successful experience in credit with significant experience in an agriculture-related business. It is imperative that candidates have solid experience in collections.
Strong technical skills in account reconciliation, credit extensions, payment plans, etc.
Ability to travel throughout upper NY and VT.
BS degree in Finance or a related field is preferred, but not required.
Possess a track record of managing multiple projects concurrently.
Computer proficiency includes MS Word and Excel.
Excellent communication and customer satisfaction skills required.

Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
Strong management, analytical, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
The ability to think “outside the box” to create custom solutions.
